What this website collects, why, how long it is kept, and how you can have it corrected or removed.

Who this covers
This policy applies to shekharganagaluru.com, operated by Shekhar Ganagaluru. It explains how personal data is handled under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
You can read everything on this site without an account. Reading is anonymous. Personal data is collected only if you choose to create an account, contact us, or register for a programme.
What is collected, and why
- Name and email
- When you create an account. Used to identify you, attribute your comments, and send notifications you have asked for.
- Password
- Stored only as a scrypt hash, never as text. Nobody — including us — can read your password.
- Google account identifier
- If you sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile picture. We never receive your Google password.
- Comments you post
- Published publicly under your name, because that is the point of commenting.
- IP address and browser type
- Recorded with your sign-in sessions to keep the account secure and to prevent abuse.
- Enquiry and question details
- What you type into the contact, training-enquiry or question forms, so that we can reply.
- Registration and billing details
- For paid programmes only: name, organisation, address and GSTIN where applicable, so that a valid invoice can be issued.
Nothing is collected “just in case”. If a field is not needed to do the thing you asked for, it is not requested.
How long it is kept
- Account details
- For as long as your account exists.
- IP address and session records
- 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Enquiries and questions
- 24 months from our last contact with you.
- Payment and invoice records
- 8 years. This is required by Indian tax law and is the one category we cannot delete on request.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may, at any time:
- See your data
- Download everything held about you, from your profile page.
- Correct it
- Edit your details directly in your profile.
- Delete your account
- One action in your profile. Your identity, sessions and notifications are removed. Comments you posted are anonymised rather than deleted, so conversations others took part in remain readable.
- Withdraw consent
- Turn off notifications or community emails whenever you like — as easily as you turned them on. Every email also carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Raise a grievance
- Write to begreatseries@gmail.com and you will receive a response within 30 days.
The one exception is noted above: invoice records must be retained for 8 years under tax law, and this is made clear before you confirm a deletion.
What is not done here
You are not tracked across the internet. This site does not use advertising cookies, does not build behavioural profiles, and does not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Visitor statistics are collected in aggregate and without cookies, so they cannot identify you. The only cookie the site sets is the one that keeps you signed in.
Who else can see your data
Data is stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. A small number of services are used to make the site work, and each receives only what it needs:
- Cloudflare
- Hosting, database and storage.
- Only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Email delivery provider
- Your email address, to deliver verification and notification messages.
- Razorpay
- For paid programmes. Card details are entered on Razorpay's own systems and never reach this site.
Age
This site is intended for professionals and is not directed at children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you believe a child has created an account, write to begreatseries@gmail.com and it will be removed.
If something goes wrong
If a data breach occurs, affected users and the Data Protection Board of India will be notified without undue delay, and the incident will be recorded.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page is updated and account holders are notified. For any question about your data, or to raise a grievance, write to begreatseries@gmail.com.
